I do wonder if the bus could be repaired considering the interior is the only bit on fire (and it also took care of some seats since you can't have more than 15 seats if you want to drive it on a regular license.)

I'd drop in a 2JZ, tune it and bam.

2JZ? That bus must weigh 20,000 lbs I don't think a 2JZ has the bottom end to move it.

Hey, if a piddly old Cummins made 400-500 lbft, how hard is it to tune a 2JZ to achieve that level (with the hilarious turbo lag)?

It won't do that at sub-2k RPM like the cummins, and out of boost performance would be atrocious.

So you're just going to do 5k RPM clutch drops every time you pull away, and rev it out in every gear to maintain boost pressure? Or you could build the Cummins to make many thousands of lb-ft.
